Our commitment begins with being PLASTIC-NEUTRAL by the end of 2021. Currently, for every loaf sold, we offset its environmental impact by reclaiming 50% of its packaging (by weight) from ocean-bound plastic. Our goal is to reclaim 100% by the end of the year. We accomplish this through our involvement with Impact Collective.
Impact Collective is a group of forward-thinking brands committed to making an immediate and positive environmental impact. They focus on neutralizing carbon, plastic, water, and energy footprints. Happy Campers is thrilled to be a Plastic member of the Collective!
Additionally, Happy Campers Bars and Flour Mix are in the process of transitioning to fully home-compostable packaging. Our original timeline of the end of May had to move up about a month to end of June/beginning of July, but the transition is near!
Finally, our most important and ambitious goal is to transition our bread packaging to be fully home-compostable by the end of 2022. We are actively pursuing options and partnerships to accomplish this lofty goal. We couldn’t be more excited to pioneer the way with you!
While several bajillionaires seem determined to colonize other planets, we quite enjoy Earth. That’s why we want to do everything we can to nourish and sustain our planet.
